Family Sponsorship

Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents can sponsor their spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, dependent children, parents, and grandparents to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents.

Both the sponsor and applicant must meet certain requirements to qualify under this program. Sponsors must be 18 years of age or older, have no outstanding sponsorship undertakings, immigration debts, court order debts and certain criminal issues, cannot be in prison or undeclared bankruptcy. Sponsors are required to support their sponsoring family member financially by meeting the minimum income requirements in certain cases.

The documentations for applications under this class vary significantly. Therefore, it is important to make sure that you complete and submit the correct application package according to your specific case.

Super Visa

On December 2011, the Canadian government launched a new program called, “Parents and Grandparents Super Visa”.
Only Canadian citizens and Canadian Permanent Residents are eligible to invite their parents or grandparents under this visa program. This visa allows your parents and grandparents enjoy visiting your family in Canada for up to 2 consecutive years at a time without having to renew their status.Moreover, the visa can remain valid for up to 10 years and allows for re-entry during their stay. It is important to note that no dependents can be included on this application.

Inadmissibility under this visa:

The applicants cannot be inadmissible to Canada on the basis of health or security. They might be required to meet specific conditions set forth by the Canadian visa office responsible for their country of residence.
